Duesenberg represents the pinnacle of American luxury and performance in the early 20th century. Founded by brothers Fred and August Duesenberg in 1913 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the company quickly established itself as a manufacturer of high-quality, high-performance racing cars and luxury automobiles. Duesenberg vehicles were known for their engineering excellence, including the development of one of the first straight-eight engines and the use of innovative technologies such as four-wheel hydraulic brakes. The Model J, introduced in 1928, is often cited as one of the greatest American cars ever made, epitomizing the brand's blend of performance, luxury, and craftsmanship. Despite the brand's legendary status and contribution to automotive innovation, the Great Depression adversely affected its commercial viability, leading to its eventual absorption by Cord Corporation and cessation of production in 1937.
